Brother Mujtaba Tariq was raised in the New York tri-state area, where he learned the essential knowledge of aqidah, fiqh and other Islamic sciences from his parents, local scholars, and teachers. He later embarked upon a journey to learn the various branches of tazkiyah (self-purification) under the supervision and instruction of his teacher, Shaykh Ahmad Dabbagh, who is a leading authority in this science.
Mujtaba has been working with Muslim youth in New Jersey for the past 10 years and is currently the coordinator of Unity TM, which is a non-profit organization dedicated to the spiritual development and mentorship of Muslim youth through group activities, classes, and spiritual retreats. He is also the treasurer of Building Blocks of NJ which is a non-profit charity organization dedicated to providing support and relief to those in need in the New Jersey area.
Mujtaba graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). He has worked as a financial consultant for the past 12 years, specializing in matters related to state, federal and international taxation.
