DESCRIPTION:Embark on an enriching journey of learning and connection with the Holy Quran! This class welcomes new Muslims to explore the beauty and power of short chapters (Surahs) of the Quran through guided memorization and proper recitation (Tajweed). Learn to recite with accuracy and reverence, build a strong foundation for your lifelong Quranic engagement, and nourish your faith with timeless verses. \nPlease note that this class is for new Muslims who have not memorized more than 3 Surahs.\nRegister here: https://events.meccacenter.com ( https://events.meccacenter.com/events/meccacenternyc/1237390/r/website-event-page )\nInstructor and Timing\nClass will be taught by Sister Alina Goldshtayn on Thursdays from 6:30pm to 7:30pm EDT weekly from May 30 to June 20.\nBio: Alina embraced Islam eighteen years ago. As one of the first students at the Mecca Center, she has been dedicated to learning more about Islam and the Quran ever since. Alina has a strong interest in understanding the Quran correctly, and she spent many years studying tajweed, the way the Quran is recited, with different teachers. Three years ago, she officially began memorizing the Quran, and has already accomplished a great deal, memorizing nearly two-thirds of the holy Quran.\nPrerequisite   – None required. One does not need to know Arabic to take this class.\nRecording – Each session will be recorded on Zoom. Links to access the recordings will be sent to all via email.\nPayment Options\nPlease note that the registration fee covers all sessions of the class.\n\nEarly registration fee until May 18:\n\n$40 per class\n$80 for bundle of 3 classes\n$120 for all classes being offered\n\n\nRegular registration fee from May 19 and thereon:\n\n$50 per class\n$100 for bundle of 3 classes\n$150 for all classes being offered\n\n\n\nFinancial aid is also provided.
